With over 10 years experience in organic cosmetics and inspired by the principle of respect to nature from the Zen and Tao philosophies, David Reccole founded the French brand Zao Essence of Nature. Zao was created with a vision of sustainability, a minimal carbon footprint and formulations of 100% natural ingredients from organic farming. The products are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, with powerful performance that is soothing, safe and gentle to the skin.
Zao Make-Up is committed to offering make-up products with irreproachable formulas with 100% of the ingredients of natural origin. Without petrochemical derivatives or synthetic preservatives, Zao products are healthy for your skin. Our raw materials are obtained by a non-polluting and simple transformation of a plant or a mineral such as plant extracts, vegetable oils and butters, mineral pigments … Thanks to our ecological and ethical commitments, we obtained the mention « Slow Cosmetic » in 2014.
The quality of our raw materials is also of paramount importance. That’s why we are always looking for new natural ingredients to guarantee you the best. Among these ingredients are the micronized silver powder which, in addition to being an excellent skin-friendly preservative, has amazing antiseptic properties. Although it is very expensive, we have chosen to use it in almost all of our products.
Zao Make-Up cosmetics are only formulated from natural ingredients, such as vegetable oils, waxes, plant extracts (bamboo, shea butter, apricot kernel, corn, etc ...), without the addition of synthetic preservatives or fragrances. For a responsible make-up, the ingredients resulting from organic farming are preferred and formulas are certified organic by Ecocert, therefore respectful of the skin and the environment. The colours that make up the range are exclusively obtained using natural pigments (minerals and plants). The ingredients are chosen according to their specific properties in order to combine the best makeup (colors, hold, rendering, textures ...) and benefits for the skin.
